As an author, you may have already invested a significant amount of time and effort into writing your book, but have you considered turning your book into an online course? By doing so, you can reach a wider audience, engage with your readers on a deeper level, and even create a new source of income. In this blog post, we discuss four benefits of converting your book into an online course.

1. Reach a wider audience

One of the benefits of converting your book into an online course is you can reach a wider audience than you would with a book alone. In a previous post, we highlighted that we learn differently. While there are people who enjoy reading a book, others prefer to learn through interactive, multimedia content. By creating a course, you can attract more learners.

2. Deeper engagement with readers

A course allows you to engage with your readers on a deeper level. You can provide additional examples, exercises, and case studies that help learners apply the concepts in your book to real-life situations.

One of our clients, Shirley Thiessen, experienced grief when she lost her son. She wrote a book to share her story and the book has helped many people worldwide. However, she decided to create an online course that enabled her to engage on a deeper level with her audience. In each lesson, she uses talking head videos where she shares her experience and the experiences of others. She also offers support and offers strategies on how you could become a Hope Hero for someone who’s grieving.

3. Create a new source of income

By creating an online course, you can generate a new source of income. You can charge a fee for access to the course, or offer it as a premium add-on for people who purchase your book.

4. Establish yourself as an expert

By creating an online course, you establish yourself as an expert in your field. This can help you to build your brand and attract new clients or speaking engagements.

    Final Thoughts

If you’ve written a book, consider converting it into an online course. You could impact many more lives by sharing your expertise in a different format.

    1. Your course related posts are motivating me to think about what next on those course/book ideas I have had for a while now..and you have the tips and tricks I need here already..

    2. I had made a couple books in the past for Bloggers and Families but then I was afraid to publish them so they sit in a drawer. It might be time to get the books out and dust them off and work on them with my son.
